New Beginnings

So, back in November I was called to be the 2nd counselor in the YW presidency in our ward. My mom is the president, my sister-in-law, Jessica is 1st counselor, and Nicole is the secretary. As if that is not cool enough, as advisers we have Rachel, Betsy Baugh, and Laura Kaiser! We are all really excited about our new callings. So, in an effort to start off with a bang, we decided to go above and beyond for our New Beginnings Program (I give full credit to Jess, by the way). We did an NBA (New Beginnings Association)themed program where the girls where the players, and the leaders were the cheerleaders. The girls made their own jerseys and the leaders had on matching shirts that Rachel painted for us. We drafted the new beehives and we retired the jerseys of the girls that completed their personal progress. It was a fun night. We set a high bar for ourselves with this activity. I don't know how we can continue to live up to it.

Real Snow

We actually got some real snow! We get one good snow every year (see my March 2nd post from last year). Since this is a rare occasion people here in Georgia go crazy when it snows like this. Everyone is outside building snowmen, throwing snowballs, and sledding. I don't care much for these festivities. In my opinion the best thing about it snowing like this is that everything closes down and people don't have to go to work or school, but the boys think its great fun. Justin and Jackson hurried outside to play the morning after our big snow.
Drake looked longingly out the window, wishing he could join the fun.
I indulged him and took him outside too. He was overjoyed!
Then he fell face first in the deep snow and his fun was over.
We went back inside and Drake was content to watch the fun from the window until Dad and Jackson started throwing snowballs at his window.
Drake was sad all over again. Rough day for the Drakester. By the way, this is the perfect picture to show off Drake's crazy sharp Dracula teeth. The one's on top are even more pointy! We named this boy right! Drake is a derivative of Dracula and/or dragon.
Here is one of his top fangs. Creepy cool, huh?
Here are the guys standing/ squatting proudly next to their snowman. The snowman sat on our back patio for almost an entire week before he melted.
Quick shout out, Happy Snowy Birthday Car!
