Snowed In For a Week - That's Georgia for ya.

So all three of the people who read my blog know what happened here in Georgia last week, but I guess I am going to blog about it anyway. Last week (Sunday the 8th to be exact) we had a Georgia snow storm. I call it a "Georgia snow storm" because in about 80% of the country it would have been considered a normal snow fall. It snowed all night and on into Monday morning. We had about 8 inches of accumulation, which is unheard of here in Georgia. Usually when it snows here it melts within a day or two, but last week it stayed below freezing for most of the rest of the week. We don't have the means to deal with this kind of weather, so basically all of Metro-Atlanta just shut down for the week. There was no school, stores were closed, and the local news casters were advising us all to stay home. I took the boys out into the snow on Tuesday, but they weren't all that impressed. There was a thick layer of ice on top and their little feet sunk way down into the snow. Jackson tried to make a snow angel but the ice prevented his efforts. The snow came up to Drake's knees, so he just wanted to be held the whole time. Since Justin has been a workaholic and he wasn't available to play outside with us, so we gave up not long after we started and came back inside. It was pretty to look at, but apparently Cerseys don't like the cold.

Here you can see how the snow is glazed over with slick ice. It finally melted on Saturday.
