Kristina's 30 Days of 30

As most of you know my recent birthday was rather significant. Turning 30 for a woman is a horrific milestone that represents our departure from youth and beauty (personal opinion). Some of us are able to embrace this rite of passage with vigor and fervor, others are left feeling despondent, old, and ugly. My husband, knowing that I was the latter type of woman, decided to do something extra special for me so that I would feel more excited about my new oldness. As you should have read in my previous post titled AAAHHHHhhhhhhh!!!, Justin threw me an awesome surprise party getaway. But to my shock and utter amazement this would not be the end of my celebrations. My birthday was on November 3rd, but Justin and my darling boys alternated giving me presents everyday during the month of November. I call it Kristina's 30 days of 30. You can try to sing this to the tune of "Twelve Days of Christmas", but I gave up on the beat and rhyming after about day 5.

On the first day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A Wii game for the family. On the second day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me Edward scissor hands the movie. On the third day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me An Amazon kindle for me to read. On the fourth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A cover for my kindle so it stays clean. On the fifth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A trivial pursuit poker game. On the sixth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me Some black eyeliner. On the seventh day of my birhtmonth my true love gave to me A full length mirror to replace the one that Drake broke. On the eighth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A couple scented candles. On the ninth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A wooden spoon and a cheese grater. On the tenth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A dry erase board for organization purposes. On the eleventh day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A purple soft and cozy sweat suit. On the twelfth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A soft green throw blanket. On the thirteenth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A board game called imaginiff. On the fourteenth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me Some emery boards and a foot drill (what? I have rough feet). On the fifteenth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A movie called Dirty Dancing. On the sixteenth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A UGA hat. On the seventeenth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A memory card for the new camera that my parents gave me on my birthday. On the eighteenth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A mini Monopoly Card game. On the nineteenth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A small space heater so I don’t get cold. On the twentieth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A purple sweatshirt jacket to go with my purple jumpsuit. On the twenty first day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me The DVD Miss Congeniality and a Netflix trial subscription which kind of renders the DVDs obsolete. On the twenty second day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A grey hoodie jacket with thumb slots in the sleeves (its the new thing, you should get one). On the twenty third day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me Some pens and a stapler for my desk. On the twenty fourth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A Kandle for my Kindle. On the twenty fifth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me Victoria’s Secret Bodywash. On the twenty sixth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me The Movie Beetlejuice. On the twenty seventh day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A long reach duster for those hard to reach places. On the twenty eighth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A Decal for my kindle so it looks pretty. On the twenty ninth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me The movie Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken, which I have been itching to see for awhile. On the thirtieth day of my birthmonth my true love gave to me A BRAND NEW CAR!!!! Technically he just gave me this... but I turned it in 2 days later for this...

A 2010 Blackberry Chrysler Town & Country Touring with heated leather seats, 3 TVs and a build in DVD player, back-up camera, Remote start, Automatic doors, Stow and Go storage, mood lighting, and so many other cool things I can’t think of them right now! I went a little over budget. Yes, it is a minivan, but I will have you know that I picked it out and I am very excited about it. So, all of you anti-minivan party poopers keep your mouths shut! I’m a Mom and proud of it! See how Justin's awesome birthday plan worked? I have completely embraced my 30's and I choose the mini van all on my own.

So, though you might think that some of the gifts he gave me where a little lame you can't deny that he is the most amazing husband in the world and you all wish you had a spouse just like him. With that in mind, I'm going to need some seriously good ideas for his birthday in May.

On a sad note, my 14 year relationship with Dink, my Honda Civic, has come to an end. We had some good times but we both knew that this day would come. We had been growing apart for awhile. Happy trails Dink. (insert nostalgic memories and music here.)

What an amazing month. I loved your list of goodies though I felt the pinch of becoming an old lady myself as I realized how envious I am of your mini-van. I never saw this day coming but here it is. I'm dreaming of one day owning a mini-van of my very own.

What'd you do with Dink? I am currently in the process of buying myself a car and would love a Honda Civic. No, they're not as cool as minivans.... but it will do. :)

Dink was sold to Hayes Chrysler Dodge and Jeep. You wouldn't have wanted it anyway. The transmission was slipping and the car made a lot of ominous sounds when you accelerated. I think I got a steal of a deal for it, all things considered.
